An awesome day at the thrift stores!

My family and I took a few hours this afternoon to go to a few thrift shops. I'm so glad we went! Let me share a few of my favorite finds of the day.

First of all, I found a sign that I just had to get for my dad. His birthday is at the end of the month, and I had another gift picked out, but this was only $3, so I'm going to add it to the gift. If you know my dad, you know that this is perfect for him:

My dad is known to be a pessimist, but he has a great sense of humor. He's going to love this! :)

Then we found a RevereWare copper-bottom skillet for $5:

I have a RevereWare copper-bottom skillet already, but it's only half as deep as this one. I don't like to collect a lot of pans (I think I have six altogether), but there have been several times that I wished my skillet was about 1-2" higher than it is, so I decided we were going to add this pan to our collection. It needs a little cleaning, but $5 is a great price!

Then we found a nice runner for our downstairs hallway:

I've never been very fond of the bound carpet remnant that was in the hallway when we moved in, but it was better than nothing. When we saw this $8 runner at Goodwill, we didn't have to think very long. It's gorgeous, and it matches our living room (which is right next to it). I paid more for the small rug in front of my kitchen sink!

And now for the find of the day, month, maybe even year ...

A wide-format printer (can handle up to 13x18", I think) at Salvation Army for $10. This is one of those things that I've kept in the back of my mind, thinking it would be fabulous to find one at a thrift store, but not very likely. I about fell over when I saw this one today! I immediately grabbed it (all 10+ pounds of it!) and called my mom to have her look it up for me online.

The ink costs about as much as we currently pay for our ink refills, so that sounds reasonable. It can also print photo-quality, so I'm hoping to be able to print my scrapbook pages with it. Even if I only print everything but the pictures, I'll be a happy camper! I've always liked the idea of digital scrapbooking, but there was no way I was going to get into it and then have my pages sitting on my hard drive because I couldn't find a place to get them printed. I'm very curious to find out how many pages I can get out of a set of ink cartridges!

Of course, we got a few other things, but those are the highlights for the day. We were thrilled!

Congrats on your finds! Keep us updated when you get around to printing scrapbook pages and how many you can print on an ink refill.

Wow- you are quite a shopper! I love your runner, and I am sure your Dad will get a kick out of the sign. Great price on the pan, too. As for the printer- I can't wait to see how you do on your scrapbook pages!
