Shopping highlights from the past week (or so)

Today I thought I'd share some great shopping finds from the last two weeks. Remember when I told you my sister and I stopped at a thrift store during Cousin Camp and I got a bunch of great deals? Well, here's a picture of what I got for $3.50:

There are Sculpey molds (see below), 2 wooden lighthouses, a pack of two gourd picks, stamp cleaner, 2 (2-lb) blocks clear glycerine soap, knitted Barbie-style sweaters, and a lighthouse soap mold.

Here is the bear Sculpey mold. Isn't he cute?

This is the angel doll mold. It looks to me like you could omit the wings and make it a regular doll.

And here is the bunny/rabbit mold. I've been wanting to try these for awhile now, so at $0.25 each, I figured this was the time to try them. I'll keep you posted on my results when I try them!

Then last week I ran to the store to pick up a few last-minute things and ended up stumbling on a treasure trove of clearance items at Dollar Tree and Michaels.

First of all, I got these from Dollar Tree for $0.25 each. There are 4 packages of bath fizzies, a pack of 2 decorative soaps, and 3 packs of rose petal soaps. I like to add these to ladies' gift baskets.

Then at Michaels I got all of this. Yikes! It seemed like half the store was on clearance! I got a bunch of D-rings and latches to make cuter paper purses (reg. $1.99, on clearance for $0.49); 2 birdhouses from the dollar section (on clearance for $0.50 each) to make a similar album to this for this year's Cousin Camp albums; fragrance oil for soaps (on clearance for $0.69 because the package had been opened); 3 packs of clear sentiment stamps ($1 each from the tower bins - they got a new shipment!); file folders from the dollar section (pack of 3 on clearance for $0.50); "Sassy" something notebook and list pad (on clearance for $0.60 each - I got this for my Secret Sister who loves coffee and used to be a hairdresser).

But wait, that's not all ...

After I went back to the clearance aisle for more "D" rings, I saw a stack of these large photo trays. They were regularly $19.99, on clearance for $2.99!! I went through them and picked out all the ones with no scratches or other imperfections. I ended up with four of them. I'm going to have fun jazzing these up for gifts!

But that's not all ...

They also had a whole stack of these 10x13" frames. They were regularly $9.99, on clearance for $1.99! Again, I went through the stack and picked all the ones with no scratches. I ended up with three of these. I'm going to use them to frame these as gifts:

Remember these? I got them at Dollar Tree a few weeks back. I have to trim the mats just a hair, but they're going to be awesome!

Did I forget to mention that Wal-Mart is clearancing about half of their craft supplies? Apparently, they're getting in a 3-foot section of stickers. (I heard the sales associates discussing the layout while I was browsing the clearance.)

I love this Martha Stewart butterfly clear stamp set. I probably didn't need it, but at $5 it was a great deal. I've been eyeing it for awhile now, so this was my chance. See that punch next to it? It's the branch punch that I've been wanting forever! It was clearanced to $4.50. I think it took me about two seconds to grab one. :) (My Michaels store doesn't carry this one, so I had no way to get it for less than the $9 Wal-Mart was selling it for.) And while I was at it, I picked up a glue pad for $2.50. It's another thing I've been wanting for awhile now. I love glittered images, and I'm going to give this one a try soon!

Well, that's about it for today. I hope you get some great deals this week, too!
