Homemade Gift: Guest Book #9

Don't forget to enter my fat quarter giveaway!

Supplies: stamps (Coffee House Alphabet by Inkadinkado); paper (Making Memories?, recycled Kinkade image); ribbon (Michaels $1 bin); composition notebook.

Here's another guest book that I made to send as an encouragement gift to a fellow pastor's wife. I love this image. It's perfect for my purposes, since it uses a church image.

I love the guest books... my daughters always use the composition books for daily journals so we want to pretty some up!

Will you part with a trade secret and tell your preferred method(s) of adhering the papers to the book? I like xyron because it gives full coverage and no buckling or warping, but it can be cost prohibitive to use on such large surfaces.

Hi Shirley,

I love Xyron, too, but I agree about the cost. I've been using my pink ATG gun (with non-gold adhesive) for these, and I love it!

I put a full line of tape on each of the four sides, and I haven't had any trouble with it coming up. The adhesive is quite inexpensive, especially when you buy it with a coupon. That's allowed me to not skimp on adhesive and still feel good about it. :)

If you don't have the gun, you could get by just using the rolls until you save up for the gun (it was around $30 w/o a coupon the last I saw). It's not as fast or easy, but I did it with a roll that was wound wrong (so it wouldn't work in my gun), and it worked just fine.

The only thing I'm not sure it will do is cover the spine. I haven't done that since I bought my ATG, so I can't say how it would turn out.

If you try it, be sure to do the spine first, then sandwich the front and back covers over the top of it just a little ... and then let me know how it holds up. :)
